BLACK ORGANIC DENIM
THIS IS HOW SUSTAINABLE BLACK CAN BE
With the new Tokyo Organics Jeans we are bringing out another item that is a must-have in
any sustainable wardrobe. The black denim consists of GOTS-certified organic cotton and the
eco-friendly fibre called modal, which guarantees maximum comfort thanks to its silky-
smooth feel. Due to a small amount of added elastane, this denim easily returns to its original
state and therefore without a doubt has the potential of becoming your new, eco-friendly
favourite pair of jeans.
KITOTEX TECHNOLOGY: 30% LESS ENERGY, 50% LESS WATER, 70% LESS CHEMICALS DURING THE DYEING PROCESS
The Tokyo Organics Denim comes from the sustainable fabric producer Candiani in the North
of Italy. After the weaving process, the fabric is refined with the patented technology Kitotex.
Kitotex uses a natural polymer named chitosan which is won from a waste product of the food
industry. That is how Candiani saves 30% energy, 50% water and 70% chemicals during the
dyeing process. Chitosan is biodegradable and even helps cleaning the sewage.
RESOURCE-SAVING PRODUCTION THANKS TO ON-DEMAND MODEL
As you know, at SELFNATION we produce on demand only, which is why we can ensure a
sustainable use of resources. Regarding our fabric supplier, too, we are very mindful of
ecological production, which is why we like working with Candiani, the possibly greenest
denim producer worldwide. Due to the fact that SELFNATION trousers are produced
exclusively locally, short hauls can be guaranteed. We are particularly proud of our Tokyo
Organics, seeing as our standards have reached a completely new level in terms of
sustainability. We love our new black denim jeans. Convince yourself.
